Crisp fresh snow, lush forest and fairytale winter landscapes. In the previous five episodes, Drone and Phone has featured five great winter sports in the frozen world of Heilongjiang, China’s northeastern most province. Check out the best shots of the magnificent winter scenery.
The much overlooked Zhaoqing district is just a four-hour train journey from Hong Kong, three hours on the bus from Shenzhen and an hour and half from Guangzhou international airport. Running along the West River the city has two spectacular parks within easy reach. For those prepared to venture a little further, there are some stunning Karst landscapes to explore, huge caves and fascinating ancient rural villages.
Often neglected, the 78 kilometer Wilson trail, is every bit as spectacular and challenging, as Hong Kong’s better known walkways, argues China Daily reporter D J Clark. The trail starts in the far south of Hong Kong island and runs all the way up to the Shenzhen border passing through eight country parks. From the specular views over Victoria Harbor to the monkey lands of Lion Rock park and up along the steep ridges of Pat Sin Leng this trail has something for every outdoor enthusiast.
